One player runs and one chases. Then you swap. Whoever stayed free longer as the runner wins the round.

Yes. Choose Play online and host. Your friend types in the 6-digit code and plays as Player B.
Yes. The arena floats over lava. If the runner touches it the chase ends, and each map makes the floor dangerous in its own way.
You set it: each chase lasts 20 to 90 seconds, and a match has 1 to 10 rounds of two chases each.
No. Tagroo is made for a computer keyboard or game controllers.
Tagroo is a free floor is lava tag game for two players. The arena is a grid of tiles floating above bubbling lava on a toy-like volcano island, shown in 3D. One player is the runner and tries to stay free. The other is the chaser and tries to tag them. A chase ends when the runner is tagged, when the runner touches the lava, or when the timer runs out and the runner escapes.
Then you swap roles on the same map with the same timer. The runner's survival time is what counts. Whoever survived longer wins the round and a crown, and the first player to win more than half the rounds takes the match. If both times are equal, the round goes to Sudden Chase with a shorter timer.
Tagroo is built for two people on one keyboard. Player A uses the arrow keys, with comma to jump and period to dive. Player B uses W A S D, with R to jump and T to dive. The two sets of keys sit on opposite sides, so you can sit side by side without bumping hands. PS5 and Xbox controllers work too, with ✕ to jump and □ or R1 to dive.
Before a match you set the time per chase, from 20 to 90 seconds, the number of rounds, from 1 to 10, and the map. Each player then picks one of four characters: Rocco, Mimi, Zip or Bubs. They only change the look, so nobody gets a faster character.
On Skyline Scramble the rooftop tiles heat up while you stand on them, crack and drop into the lava, then come back a few seconds later. On Kitchen Chaos hot sauce floods the counter from the outside edge inward, so the safe space shrinks as the chase goes on. On The Chaos Factory four lava blobs drift across the floor and a spinning arm in the middle shoves anyone it hits.
The lava is harder on the runner. If the runner touches it, the chase is over. If the chaser falls in, they come back on a safe tile about a second later. In the last five seconds of every chase each map panics: tiles crack faster, the sauce takes the middle and the blobs speed up.
On hqbg.ai, Tagroo also plays online. One player hosts and gets a 6-digit code, and the friend who types it in plays as Player B. Each of you can use whichever keys feel natural, or a controller. There is no sign-up. Tagroo runs on computers; it doesn't have a phone layout.
Esc or the Options button pauses a chase, and the pause menu lets you resume, open Settings or go back to the main menu. Settings has a live controller tester, a choice of which controller is Player A and which is Player B, a sound slider and full screen, which is also on the F key or ⌘ / Ctrl plus Enter.
