Four New Games on the Hub: Boom Box, Tagroo, Mole Holes, Pod Box

Boom Box, Tagroo, Mole Holes and Pod Box join Wave Battler and Toot Tots on the site. What each game is, who it is for, and which ones play online.

Until now this site had two games, Wave Battler and Toot Tots. Today four more join them. I made each of these for a different person or a different mood, so here is a short note on each one and who it is for.

Boom Box: a bomberman-style arena

Boom Box is a bomb arena in a toy-box world. Four fighters start in the corners: a garden gnome called Gnorman, an angry toaster called Toasty, Sir Quacks the rubber duck in a top hat, and Inky the octopus. Drop bombs, blast crates, grab power-ups for more bombs, bigger blasts and more speed. After a while metal blocks start slamming down in a spiral from the edge, and the arena shrinks until someone is left.

Who it is for: two people on one keyboard, or you alone against bots, or friends online with a room code. Bots fill any empty spots. Play Boom Box or read the Boom Box page.

Tagroo: floor is lava tag for two

Tagroo is a floor is lava tag game. I first made it for me and my sister. One player runs, the other chases, and the floor around you is lava. If the runner touches lava, the round ends. If the chaser touches lava, they lose a moment. That small difference is the whole game, because the chaser has to fight the map too. Jump over small things, dive to close a gap. It is now in 3D on a little volcano toy island.

Who it is for: two players on one keyboard, siblings, couples, or two friends online. Play Tagroo or read the Tagroo page.

Mole Holes: for small kids

Mole Holes is the calmest game here. Moles pop up from holes and you tickle them with a tap. Every four moles win a jigsaw piece, and the pieces build twelve clay pictures, from a Birthday Mole to a Wizard Mole. There is no timer, no lives and no losing. Easy speed is slow on purpose, and there is a Grown-ups speed for parents who want to try.

Who it is for: children around 3 to 7, on a tablet, a computer, or a phone held sideways. Play Mole Holes or read the parents' guide.

Pod Box: a cozy isopod colony

Pod Box is a quiet game about keeping isopods in a plastic tub. You start with one Dairy Cow isopod called Daisy. Mist the moss, put out food, collect the frass and compost it into coins. Then buy a male, pair them, and see what the babies look like. Hidden genes mean a new colour can turn up, and there are ten to find across four species. Nothing dies, and the game pauses when you close the tab.

Who it is for: anyone who likes slow, cozy management games, and anyone who has ever watched isopods in a tank. It is best on a computer with a mouse. Play Pod Box or start with the beginner's guide.

The same menu everywhere

All four share one simple main menu with Play, Settings and Exit, plus Play online in Boom Box and Tagroo. Settings has full screen (also ⌘ or Ctrl + Enter) and controller support, including PS5 controllers. Exit brings you back to the hub. Online play uses the same room codes as Wave Battler and Toot Tots, with no sign-up.

These are small games made by one person, and they will keep changing as I play them and hear from you. If something feels wrong or you have an idea, I would like to hear it. You can find how each game is played on the how to play page, and more about me on the about page.
